The event will be hosted in the Nave of a 120 years old English style Episcopal Church. The setting will be simple and relaxed but with intention. Guests will travel to a down south style picnic in a field of contrasts. There are two levels of attendees to this private theatre experience. First being the Storytellers and second the 3 to 4 Picnic Guests they choose to invite.

Storytellers share their voice and experiences of the Fruit we are all well aware of that grew and still grows out of America’s churches. Truthful conversation about not only the bitter tastes but the sweetness as well. What we are alleging is churches played a serious role on the growth of the Jim Crow Era. We also know that the churches played a serious role in the Civil Rights Movement. We are still living with the same issues today even if it has grown past the physical "Doors of Hate" and into something of a more virtual and subtle experience.

Bitter Fruit …social justice the art of conversation comes to you as a collaboration with Jamey Ponte of House of Friends, J White with the Oasis at Grace & V.L. Cox., an established visual artist that will have on display her works known as “End Hate Doors” as well as some other works her and Jamey will be collaborating on for the evenings experience. Her works have a deeply rooted theme of addressing social justice issues.

There is no ticket one can buy to be here. It is by invitation only for the Saturday Private event. Sunday events are open but havelimited seating. More info visit:

Each person joining us over the weekends events will walk away with an experience to help someone grow. The takeaway is- asking you as an individual as a guest to this experience, “What will you do to help make our society better. What will you do to help one’s voice be heard and understood?” Hoping each guest uses the experience to reflect and find a small or large “Action” to vision yourself for others.
